About Me

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out this blog. My name is Dr. Kristen Mattson. I am a wife, mother of three, former English teacher and current high school Library Media Center Director in Aurora, Illinois. In this role, I partner with teachers in all content areas to integrate digital literacy, research skills, creation and innovation in the classroom. As part of a Future Ready school district, I have embraced the Future Ready Librarians framework, transforming our school’s library space and practices. I now enjoy supporting fellow librarians by hosting site visits, facilitating professional development, blogging about my experiences, and moderating the Future Ready Librarians’ Facebook group.

In addition to my day job, I am a published writer and enjoy speaking and consulting.

There is nothing better than learning and growing through my interactions with students, colleagues, and my extended PLN. Join me on Twitter @DrKMattson!
